The Kwik Kerb® concept was first made available to the public in Melbourne, Australia during 1987 by Edgetec International Pty. Ltd. The concept was a huge success and within a few years Kwik Kerb® had become the No.1 organization laying concrete landscape edging and the only organization of it's type, operating on a worldwide basis. Kwik Kerb® has retained that honour to this day and continues to develop new technology with advanced machinery and processes for the laying of concrete kerbs.
In 1995 Kwik Kerb® were the first company in the world to develop a method and supply a stamped and patterned kerbing product, with the release of the famous Eurostyle® range of concrete kerbing. Although other companies have since tried to copy the concept, Eurostyle’s one-day process has been continually enhanced over the years and is still the premier concrete edging product in the world. Kwik Kerb® continues to innovate to this day, recently releasing its Eurobrick® range of concrete edging.
The Edgemaster® continuous concrete edging machine used by your Kwik Kerb® Business Owner is also patented. The Kwik Kerb® trademark is registered worldwide to help protect our concrete kerbing customers. Without such protection, some other supplier of an inferior edging product, could "pass off" their product as Kwik Kerb®. Make sure that the operator you have chosen is a genuine Kwik Kerb® Business Owner by requesting that he show you his letter giving him permission to use the Kwik Kerb® name. Don't make a mistake that could leave you without the product you expected!
The Edgemaster® continuous concrete edging machine used by your Kwik Kerb® operator is also patented. This machinery is easily discernible as genuine by the distinctive red color. Why is Kwik Kerb® the best decorative landscape kerbing available?
To provide the product with room to flex as the ambient temperature changes,
control joints are installed. This allows the Kwik Kerb® to
crack in a controlled way when ground movement etc. stresses the kerb.
A minimum of one part cement to four parts aggregate is used in the
Kwik Kerb® concrete mix. This provides a consistently high strength
concrete kerb. Most Kwik Kerb® is also over-laid with a special,
very strong cement sand mixture which makes the surface of your concrete
edging very resistant to scratching, chipping and weathering.
(Most alternative kerbing companies don't use this method and the result
is a very short life span for their edging.) Kwik Kerb® also has a special
sealer applied to the surface of the concrete as it is installed.
As with all concrete creations, small imperfections can occur which are beyond the ability of anybody to control. If you have any questions regarding repairs to damaged Kwik Kerb®, please contact the Kwik Kerb® Business Owner who installed your concrete kerbing and they will be only too glad to offer some advice. This sealer adds much strength by slowing hydration, protecting your concrete edging from stains and reduces fading. It makes the surface of your kerb very easy to keep clean by simply hosing it off.
Kwik Kerb® Business Owners are trained to provide first class kerbing installations! They are thoroughly trained in the use of the equipment. Much the training's emphasis is also placed on the finishing of the work so that Kwik Kerb’s high standards are maintained.
